About
A private, gated community, True North Golf Club in Harbor Springs boasts a championship-caliber golf course by Jim Engh. The course is carved from Michigan's beloved north woods and could become known as one of the state's finest rounds.
True North boasts undulating terrain and valleys that offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape. A test for players of all skill levels, the course is dotted with more than six ponds, and fairways are lined with hardwoods and pines.
Each hole at True North Golf Club has four tee boxes. So you can test your skills from anywhere from 4,800 yards to more than 7,000 yards.

Up North Gem
Up north Michigan gem. One of only two Jim English courses in Michigan. Love the undulating greens her and love the options on the 18th hole.
Spectacular Jim Engh Design
I had the good fortune of being invited by a friend to play True North and to stay in a cottage on site. I have played a few Engh designed courses and this is the best I have ever played. The condition of the greens and fairways was impeccable. I enjoyed the elevation changes and every hole presented a new challenge. We had an opportunity to play a couple of different courses in the area during our stay, but we all chose to stay and play True North four days in a row. I am just finalizing plans to go back in July and can’t wait to return. The staff is very accommodating as well!
Great Location and course
True North is in a picturesque setting in N. Mich and the course takes full advantage of the magnificent terrain and views. The course was superbly conditioned and is challenging , but it is a fair and fun course to play. We stayed in the on course cottages which certained enhanced our experience. I would highly recommend a trip to True North. I can not wait until this summer to play there again.
Fantastic Course!
This is a great golf experience with unbelievable views and gorgeous terrain. I have played all over the world and this course ranks in the top ten all time. Gives Brandon Dunes and Streamsong a run for their money. Don't miss it! Especially in the fall with great colors!
Perfect All Around Course & Club
True North Golf Club is a pristine club located just outside Harbor Springs. The course weaves throughout the forest, providing dynamic challenges to golfers of all skill levels. Each hole is designed to provide a unique experience, while the course maintains a cohesive and intimate layout. Fairways alternate from wide to narrow in places. Greens are perfectly maintained and come in all shapes and sizes. The staff, both in the club and on the course, are highly professional and greatly enhance the experience. I would highly recommend any golfer add this course to the top of their wish list.
All Around Exception Club & Course

At $225, I would not have played this Fazio course but my host included it in our itinerary. It is private and we had our pro call. There were very few people on the golf course.
First, I am a Fazio fan and am surprised that he was chosen for this job given the topography. It is a very hilly course and lacks the wide open bigness that marks so many of his courses. This ended up having numerous blind tee shots which I do not care for. Also, the routing got weird as holes were scrunched into the top or bottom of the elevation.
Immaculate conditioning. Way too expensive compared to better (my opinion) area courses.

It’s not a Fazio design, it’s a Jim Engh design,. The only Fazio course in Michigan is at Treetops.
