GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Thousand Oaks Golf Club is Grand Rapids' most upscale public golf course. Designed by Rees Jones, it's got all the luxury amenities you'd expect, including the state's most advanced golf carts.
The course can feel more "up north" than Grand Rapids at times thanks to big elevation changes (including raised tees and downhill par 3s) and the lack of parallel holes.
At times the homes in the namesake residential development get a little too close for comfort but that's housing-development golf for you. All things considered, Thousand Oaks lives up to its place in the Grand Rapids golf pantheon.
