Beeches Golf Club in southwestern Michigan
Beeches Golf Club in South Haven is southwest Michigan golf's newest course, seeing its first full season in 2007. Conditions seem to have come along nicely. Greens are large and firm with large tiers and swales.
There is good hole variety here, with the back nine outshining the front. The par-5 10th is a double dogleg that plays to a long green with several tiers. The mammoth 16th tops out at 670 yards from the back tees; it's followed by a short par 3 over a pond with a great view of the course's signature giant beech tree in the distance. Designed by local favorite Bruce Matthews III, this golf course is a great value at just $44 on weekends including cart.
