Dave Pelz school opens at The Homestead in Glen Arbor
The Dave Pelz Scoring Game School has announced an expansion of its three-day school program into northern Michigan. The Homestead in Glen Arbor, Mich., will host Pelz three-day schools and one-day clinics from June through September in its stunning setting along the shores of Lake Michigan.
In conjunction with The Homestead's Lifetime Skills Learning Center, Pelz schools and clinics will be offered on a specially designed practice facility adjacent to the acclaimed freshwater resort's scenic par-3 course.
"We're committed to bringing the best instructional programs in the world to The Homestead, because we want our guests to do more than have fun in our freshwater paradise. We want them to leave enriched," says Bob Kuras, president of The Homestead. "The Dave Pelz Scoring Game School is synonymous with world-class short game and putting instruction, and we couldn't be happier that they've chosen our property as their Michigan home."
Pelz's staff opens its first season at The Homestead with a series of three-day schools, starting with a June 19-21 session and continuing through the summer. One-day putting and wedge clinics as well as a beginners' program also will be offered to guests and visitors of The Homestead and residents of the area this summer.
"We've known for years what a fantastic golf market Northern Michigan is," says Dave Pelz. "The region is beautiful and full of great golf courses. We're glad to have an opportunity to bring our programs to a place where the people love the game and are passionate about playing and improving. I think our programs will be well received and I know people will fall in love with The Homestead when they visit."
TPelz's premier three-day schools maintain a 4-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio and employ the practical, proven methods Pelz and his staff have used to help countless professional and amateur students improve their scores.

Dave Pelz Scoring Game School
Pelz's schools apply his practical, scientific approach to golf, honed through decades of research and one-on-one coaching of many of the game's top professionals. The former NASA physicist's research has proven that golfers lose almost 80 percent of their shots to par inside of 100 yards from the hole. To that end, Pelz's school curriculum focuses strictly on what he defines as "The Scoring Game" -- a combination of the short game (distance wedges, pitching, chipping and sand play) and putting -- which comprise 60 to 65 percent of the total number of shots played per round.
Premier Pelz Scoring Game schools are also offered at the Boca Raton Resort & Club (Boca Raton, Fla.), Reynolds Plantation (Greensboro, Ga.), The Ranch at La Quinta (La Quinta, Calif.), and The Club at Cordillera (Edwards, Co.) and Vineyard Knolls (Napa, Calif.)
Pelz's staff also travels to 44 cities, conducting the Dave Pelz Scoring Game Tour, a series of one-day putting and wedge clinics. These daily sessions offer a 6-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio and an introduction to the essential putting, chipping, sand and wedge play skills all golfers need to score effectively. The Pelz staff also offers custom programs for corporate clients with sessions tailored to meet the needs of groups.
Pelz has taught professionals and amateurs alike for more than 20 years. Pelz founded his namesake Short Game School in 1985 and has worked with more than 50 PGA Tour professionals, including Mike Weir, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Steve Elkington, Tom Kite, and Beth Daniel.
