Twas a bit wet very early in the season
Played Easter Sunday and walked - a bargain at $30 early in the season. Greens were firm and held, but the rest of the course was damp to wet - so virtually no roll. 2nd time playing in the early season, I need to come back and play in warner weather and in drier conditions.
Pontiac cc
Interesting layout course is very dry ball rolls a lot. Greens are probably medium speed pace of play was pretty good on the front nine slow on the back nine. Good deal for seniors $20 to walk $30 to ride
Fun course close to home and a great price. The course is not very long compaired to others but you better hit the ball straight. Love how hole 1 is a par 5. hole 2 is very short par 3 with two optional greens having sand in front of greens and water behind so chosing the right club can be a problem. Hole 3 is an up hill par 5 with a gaint tree about 200 yards to the left of fairway entrance making it a challenge to engage the fairway. The rest of the course has tight tree lines making just a slight draw or slice off the tee box potentially a problem. Tight water hazards forcing you to lay up on other holes. Long par 3 on 16 over 200 plus yards is a challenge as well. Fun course to play! Looks easy until you play it.you will encounter a challenge thats why i love this course.
Great Public Course
I was very impressed. This would be a perfect neighborhood course. It was affordable and yet had wonderful greens, great traps, pretty water features, and great landscaping. There was a great variation of hole designs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Has full service bar and restaurant with plenty of TVs.
Great Affordable Course
Wonderful Golf Course for an average golfer. The greens are great. The course is very affordable. The staff is friendly. There are no "bad holes." Event the shorter holes have interesting water features and great landscaping. I would highly recommend!!!
Keep it in the fairway or else
I always enjoy this course...it starts with a par 5, followed by a 140yd par3 and then a difficult par 5 again, so you get to swing the club hard, right out of the gate, but after this you better keep it in the fairway, small strategically placed trees are just yards into the rough...not a very long course but some very long holes, including a 232yd 16th that plays up hill and a long 9th hole that is an extremely tough 2 putt if you get there in 2......the Syron family staff treat us good....I play it about 12 times a year
Old Course, Still a Challenge
Used to play here fairly often, it can be fairly challenging and tends to play long. It's been family owned forever, on a converted farm which has some elevation changes, creeks, ponds and doglegs. A couple of holes have optional greens for varied distances and placements. Rewards long, straight drives and punishes long, crooked ones. Course condition has always been good in the past; haven't played there this year. Several holes are memorable and some are average. A tough, uphill 200+ yard par 3 can humble you, as can some of the par 5s.
