Great Experience
The staff in the pro shop could. It have been nicer and happy to get my business. The course was in good condition. The course has a solid layout with wonderful Jerry Mathews greens.
Nice course
Enjoyed playing this course. Mixed bag of different types of holes.v Course was in great shape.
How is this course even public?!
The course conditions here were some of the best I've ever seen at any public golf course. COUNTRY CLUB QUALITY. The greens were PGA tour quality. Did I mention the rates are INSANE??? Really firm. You needed a lot of spin to keep the ball on the green. It's the home course of the Macomb Dakota High school team and now I know why they almost made states last year. They get to play on a course with extremely tight tee shots, a decent amount of water, and bunkers as soft as a lake Michigan beach. I played here on a Friday evening after school and I had the whole course to myself because the weather stunk. I still had a great time. Nothing confusing between any holes and you don't need any course knowledge to play well. Par fours aren't very long but the par threes and fives make up for it, not a driver, then wedge course by any means. Staff was really welcoming. It looked like they were brothers maybe even twins. One of them was a little drunk when I finished my round. I am going to make this one of my new go-to courses for sure.
Well Manicured and Very Fair Test
Played the back tees at 6500 yards, a suitable yardage for me. The course design was perfect for those that want to have FUN! Nice and wide landing areas, with bunkers hugging the greens allow for playable misses off the tee, and some challenge around the green.
Not overly tough however. Greens are easy to read, and again, this makes it fun especially for the first time player!
